This easy Air Fryer Blueberry Cheese Danish is quick and easy to make. Made of store-bought puff pastry and delicious cream cheese filling with condensed milk. Topped with homemade blueberry pie filling, then drizzled with a creamy glaze.
This air fryer blueberry cheese danish is best to enjoy the same day they are made, otherwise, they start to get a bit stale and lose their crispiness.
I made all the filling ahead or have it on hand, and then just thaw the puff pastry sheets, assemble and bake them the day I want it.
Puff pastry can be made in multiple different ways or designs. It can also be served any day of the week, for breakfast or snacks option.
How to make Air fryer Blueberry Cheese Danish
Prepare the cream cheese filling. Mix the softened cream cheese and condensed milk in a medium bowl until smooth. Whisk in the egg yolk, vanilla and lemon zest until combined. Set aside.
Preheat the oven to 400 F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Lay the thawed cold puff pastry on a floured flat surface. You can make this puff pastry in many different ways and designs of your choice.
- Â For the braided edges puff pastry design. Use a ruler and a knife or pastry cutter to cut each puff pastry sheet into 18 strips, a quarter-inch thick. Braid 3 strips of cut pastry, then pinch the end.
- Divide the rest of each puff pastry dough into 6 about 3 inches squares.
• Make the Egg wash. Whisk the egg white and water. Brush on the top edges of each puff pastry square. - Place the braided puff pastry on top around the edges of each square. You might need to stretch it a bit to bond each end. Brush the top with the egg wash.
- Place about 2 tablespoons of cream cheese filling onto each square.
- Then add about a tablespoon and a half of blueberry pie filling.
- Bake the blueberry cream cheese Danish.
Baking in the Air-fryer– bake at 375 F for 15-18 minutes or at 400 F for 10 minutes until lightly browned.
Baking in the oven– bake in preheated oven at 400 F for 15 to 18 minutes or until lightly brown.
• For the glaze. Mix all the ingredients of your choice of glaze until smooth. Drizzle on cooled Danishes. Best served the same day or stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
To reheat– reheat in the air fryer at 400°F for 2 to 3 minutes.
