This French Vanilla Dalgona Coffee is a whipped coffee recipe originated from South Korea most popularly known as “Dalgona Coffee“.
This beverage is made by whipping equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until it becomes foamy and creamy, then adding it to cold or hot milk.
You can make a lot of variation with this frothy drink. Occasionally, it is topped with coffee powder, cocoa powder, crumbled or ground graham crackers or biscuits. You can also top honey and caramel syrup for extra sweetness.
How to make Dalgona coffee
In a small bowl, whisk coffee, sugar, and hot water until sugar and coffee are dissolved.
Whisk briskly by hand or use a hand mixer on medium speed until medium-stiff.
Heat or bring to a boil in a saucepan the whole milk, condensed milk and pure vanilla extract. Pour in a heatproof glass or coffee mug. Add the whipped coffee mixture on top.
Optional: Add 1/4 tsp of pure vanilla extract for extra vanilla flavour.

- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp hot water
- 1 ¼ cup whole milk
- 1½ tbsp condensed milk or less (to taste)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
