These crispy air fryer breaded chicken wings are coated with flavorful homemade breading. It’s dairy-free and you can make it gluten-free too! Ready in 30 minutes!
This recipe is lightly breaded like the Korean Fried Chicken Wings and Air Fryer Fried Chicken I made. You can add breading or flour to the chicken in the air fryer without egg or buttermilk. The breading helps to keep the chicken wings from drying out in the air fryer.
You can also make it gluten-free and dairy-free which will give crispier results.
Do you use baking soda or baking powder for wings in the air fryer?
Baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate. It needs an acid for it to activate.
Baking Powder is a combination of sodium bicarbonate and powdered acid. All it needs is moisture and heat for it to activate.
Therefore, use baking soda for recipes with acidic ingredients and use baking powder for recipes that don’t have acidic ingredients.
