For the Peach Pie Filling Ingredients

Peach– fresh ripe peach for the best texture and flavor. It can be substituted with frozen peach (thaw/drain excess water) or canned peach (discard syrup).

Maple Syrup – to sweeten, thicken, and adds a caramel-nutty flavor.

Sugar – granulated white sugar or light brown sugar.

Cornstarch – to thicken the peach filling.

Cinnamon powder and ground nutmeg- are warm spices that complement well and enhance the peach flavor.

How to Make Air Fryer Peach Tartlets

If using fresh ripe peaches; To peel or not to peel? If you like the texture of the peach skin, you can leave it on and slice it into small pieces.

Peach filling for tartletsYou can peel the peaches using a knife or peeler. However, blanching ripe soft peaches is an easy way to peel them. Quickly soak them in boiling water for about a minute and then transfer them into ice water for about a minute or two. Peel the peach skin and it comes right off. Slice up to the core, then cut them into small pieces and transfer to the bowl. You may need to discard some of the peach juice to prevent the peach pie filling to become runny and a soggy pastry dough.

If using frozen peaches, thaw and use a strainer to remove the excess water or juice. And if using canned peaches, discard the syrup and slice them into small pieces.

Add the maple syrup, sugar, cinnamon powder, and ground nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
